Raw, bluesy, groove metal featuring former members of Cage, Sicarus and Tourniquet. Influences include Badlands, Audioslave, Pantera and too many others to mention.
Conceived in the fall of 2012, Seventrain first performed together at a memorial show for a local musician and friend. Based out of Southern California, the individual band members roots run deep with the hard rock/metal community. Seventrain features guitarist and founder Eric Horton (Cage), drummer, Joel Maitoza (24-7 Spyz, Shockhead, Gangland), who also produced both of the bands albums, guitarist Jef Poremba (Wild Mick Brown’s Bourbon Ballet), bassist Dino Andino (Tourniquet) and vocalist Jon Campos (Jon Campos & the Incurrables). The self-titled debut album was released worldwide on February 14th, 2014 on the bands own label imprint (So. Cal Records) distributed by Alliance Entertainment. The album charted on the CMJ Loud Rock Top 40 at #36 it's first week to radio on February 25th, 2014 and received favorable reviews by critics worldwide in print and online media. In addition, Seventrain was nominated for Best Hard Rock Album of the Year at the 2014 San Diego Music Awards.
Since the albums release, Seventrain has been direct support on select dates with Pat Travers, Michael Schenker, King's X, Skid Row, Black Star Riders, Saving Abel, Red Dragon Cartel, Saliva, Geoff Tate's Operation Mindcrime and Puddle of Mudd, in addition to headlining in local venues. The debut video for their single Bittersweet Seduction (released on May 15th, 2014) and second single Broken (released on December 24th, 2014), were both well received in online media outlets.
During pre-production for their 2nd album, vocalist Jon Campos amicably split from the band, replaced by singer Eric Koonze (Sicarus). The new chemistry reenergized the band and they wrote 17 new songs together for their sophomore release. While mixing the album, guitarist Jef Poremba left the band due to prior obligations and health concerns. Jef was replaced by guitarist Dave Odegaard who released two successful solo albums prior to joining Seventrain. The new album, Back on Track, was released on March 5, 2019.
Seventrain would like to take this holiday weekend to officially announce and welcome John Cappel to the band as the new Singer for Seventrain. The band has been very busy working on new material with John for the past several months and look forward to releasing the songs early next year. John Cappel has an extensive background from his music studies at UCLA to playing with the likes of Mike Keneally and Jeremy Colson of the Steve Vai touring band, to his projects Normal Grey and Mind Cell. We super enthused with the chemistry and musical talent he brings to the band. With new found energy we are excited to release and perform our new songs in the very near future. If you would like to hear a sample of John’s vocals here are a few links, Mind Cell , The Normal Gray . We are looking forward to seeing everyone soon!!!
